Show Committee Report September 2009 (sorry, it came after the newsletter publication)
This year, the LRCA held back-to-back specialties on June 5th and 6th. The specialty on June 5th was judged by Cecilia Martinez from Puerto Rico. The next day, Pluis Davern from California was the judge. We had a nice turn out, despite the very cool weather.
The 2009 Labrador Retriever Club of Canada National was hosted by the River City Labrador Enthusiasts in Winnipeg. It was a fun weekend and the host club put on a fabulous show. There was a large turn out of exhibitors from Alberta. This should bode well for 2010, as the Labrador Retriever Club of Alberta is hosting the National specialty.
The National will take place from June 4th to 7th and preparations are well underway. The website is currently under construction and will be available here. There will be a regional and a national specialty, judged by Mr. Les Brabban and Mrs. Joyce Brabban (Cambremer Labradors, England) respectively. Sweepstakes for the national will be judged by Ms. Carol Heidl (Tabatha Labradors, Ohio). There will be an Obedience Trial, judged by Mr. Terry Gains (Gainspride Labradors, British Columbia) as well as WC, WCI and WCX tests, judges to be announced.
